Last week started and ended with snow, and rounded off with Ajooni's 3rd birthday! The children had lots of fun digging in the snow and building snow people. They also made snowmen projects out of glue and baking soda.
The children were also getting into the holiday spirit last week. Many told us about Chanukah presents they had begun to receive, or Christmas presents they were looking forward to. We learned a little bit about Chanukah, which began on December 12. The children learned the song, "Sevivon, Sov, Sov, Sov," which is a Hebrew song about dreidels. We spun around as if we were dreidels, and fell down when the song ended! We also made doughnuts (or sufganiyot), which are traditional to the holiday because they are fried in oil. We created projects of menorahs and candles.
The children have also been working to complete their books about themselves and will be bringing them home this week!
