Last week was a busy one at school! We prepared for Valentines Day by making valentines, talking about love, and even creating heart hats!
For the Lunar New Year, Sarah did a dragon project with the kids and taught them the Cantonese greeting for the new year, "gung hay fat choi." Tomoko also talked to the children about how the holiday is celebrated in her native country of Japan, and taught them the traditional new years greeting, "gong xi." However you pronounce it, we hope you all enjoy a wonderful new year of the dog! Our class also read a lot of books about dogs to get into the spirit of the new animal. Bye bye rooster!
We also celebrated another pajama day this week and enjoyed the very balmy weather we are getting in the middle of February?! Despite the groundhog's predictions, spring is making an entrance all around us. You can see the witch hazel in the front yard blooming yellow flowers, and I spied a crocus poking up from the ground in the front as well.
