Last week we learned that mother nature does not pay attention to the calendar when we experienced a snow storm on the second day of spring! Despite the collective sigh that came from most of the grown up population of the city, the snowstorm did bring some beautiful snow that was not so difficult to shovel, and easy to sled down, ball up, and sculpt. If we must have snow, at least it was fun snow!!
After the storm the children enjoyed playing with the snow indoors and out. Inside the classroom we played with the snow in containers, turning it different colors with water colored with food coloring, and using both sprayers and droppers. Outside we dug, made snow people, and even got buried in the snow up to our waists (if we were game and wearing snow pants). It was hopefully the last hurrah of winter weather before we enjoy a mild and lovely spring. Fingers crossed!
