Don't touch the lava!

February 4, 2019

The Sprouts class has been talking about lava. A lot. In fact, as I write this I am wearing my "lava boots" to protect my feet from getting burned with all the molten lava flowing through the school!

Vicki decided to act on their interest and spend a day talking about volcanos. She introduced the kids to the words, "volcano," "erupt," and "lava." They looked at pictures of volcanos and what is inside to make them go off. They made pictures of volcanos and then they did a lava experiment. Using baking soda and vinegar, the children made Vicki's homemade volcano erupt!

Lots of red lava, thanks to the red food coloring!
