On March 20 we had a blast learning about Holi and celebrating it with the children. In the beginning of the day we practiced putting the Holi powder on a few of our babies. We were careful not to put any powder on their faces or eyes, and learned how to use the powder gently. Jaden's mother, Aparna, came in later and read a story to both classes about children in India finding colors in nature and using them to celebrate Holi. Then both classes did an activity where they decorated their own picture with vibrant hues.
Afterwards we went outside and had fun exploring the Holi powder! It got a bit messy, as the pictures can attest, but the children and adults had a lot of fun! We were also lucky to get a gorgeous, sunny day to work with.
